Hello Everyone, Eric & Laura Tanner here, we wanted to confirm the Sabbath School outing for April at our place, which is at Cohutta Springs. This will be more of an late afternoon, evening thing to allow time to get here. I will post more details later, but we will get to go on a hayride and pontoon boat rides. Then have an evening meal at our house around the campfire. Grilling, dutch oven cooking and "on a stick" will be the choice of food preparation, so bring something raw.
As most of you know, we both have to work some weekends and that is why we have not been to Sabbath School lately. We hope to be there on the 5th and 12th. If you have any questions, please contact me at: eltanner@gccsda.com.
It would be very helpful to let us know if you plan to attend. If you are planning to come please post a comment mentioning your attendance and how many are coming with you.

Thanks Eric & Laura!!! I know we'll have a great time.. Do you want to assign items to bring or will it be a potluck??
Yes! We need to assign items to be sure certain things are there, and everyone else can bring potluck food. I will be bringing a flyer to Sabbath School on April 5 with more information and directions.
Thank you Eric, for the invitation! And thank you Leif for already asking the question I was thinking about! I will await my assignment in what to bring! Kelly
I was wondering if everyone knows how to get to Cohutta? If not, then the best advice I can give is to go to www.collegedalechurch.com, and click on "Youth" and then click on "Map to Cohutta Springs Camp" under Related Links. We use this map at Cohutta and it is exact on turns and mileage. I will give specific directions to our house later or at Sabbath School on the 12th. Of course variations of this will have to be considered depending on where you live.
Two for Penroses.
We'll bring a water cooler of lemonade,a big can of Frichick, Two cans of Veggie weanies, two packs of buns, condiments for hot dogs and a couple of bags of Marshmallows.
Eric told me that they'll provide the plates.
2-3 for the Pratts.
We will bring marshmellows, graham crackers, and chocolate bars, along with a couple of bags of chips. We will also bring a couple of cans of Big Franks and buns.
Josie is bringing hamburgers and buns.
Cheryl is bringing a veggie platter with dip.
We are going to have so much fun!!
Corn anyone? Just a suggestion. Corn on the cob is excellent on the grill. I'll have butter and salt. Also, we have some extra outdoor chairs, but if you have one you may want to bring it. I will also suggest bringing insect repellant.
Eric, you say late afternoon--do you have a time in mind? Also, once at Cohutta, would we meet at your house or the pontoon dock? I'm looking forward to it!
Very good questions. I will have this information and more at Sabbath School, but for those of you who read this, you get it first. Laura and I are leaving right after class, so all are welcome to come on & spend the day with us. We will meet at my house then go from there. My house is 1357 Cohutta Springs Rd. You will not find that on a GPS or map. You get there by going past the main entrance to Cohutta, where the signs are, (on Cohutta Springs Rd.). Go about 300 yards, turn LEFT on the first & only PAVED driveway. It is a sharp, uphill turn so swing wide. The house is the double-wide at the top of the hill on the RIGHT. I've arranged pontoon boat rides for 3:30 & 4:00pm. Just meet at the house and when enough people show up,(12-15) we will go. The hayride will begin at my house or close by at 4:30ish. These are not set in stone times. I will drive the boat and I hope someone will be willing to stay by at my house to welcome more people while we are on the lake. I reckon we can eat after that, then we may have time for a walk around the lake and/or a trip to the petting zoo.
Jodi & Jeni are bringing marinated veggies to grill.
Allison will be corn on the cob!
Well, in just a few short hours, the grillin' will begin. I am amazed and humbled by the response. The rain will come thru tonight, refreshing the air and settling the pollen leaving perfect weather for us, with a high temp. in the mid 60s. An answer to prayer before it was asked. The dogwoods, wisteria and wildflowers are blooming. It's going to be wonderful. (Sniff - sniff...)I can smell the food already. Mmmmmmmmmmm ...
